You won't hear many veterans ask for a "thanks," but everyone likes to be thanked now and then. Because of this, Vista Heights Middle School students did just that for Veterans Day -- they took the time to say "thank you" to members of the San Jacinto American Legion Post 838 and made more than 500 thank-you cards. It was a simple but greatly appreciated gesture. Here you can see some of the many cards on the wall behind the speaker, Bill Harrison. Harrison is a WWII veteran and author of the book, "Six Days on a Raft," the true story of his experience adrift in a lifeboat with nine shipmates (only four of whom survived) after their ship sank during a typhoon.
