Students at TownGate Elementary got to open presents recently from Amazon. The company decided to donate 45 brand new Kindles to the school’s Special Education department and its noted autism program. Of course, students were just thrilled. The new devices are fun and engaging, and will be especially useful in the classroom. Principal Paula Rynders says teachers plan to use the Kindles to help students with, among other things, letter recognition, how to form letters, letter sounds, Accelerated Reader, and math practice of facts.
