On Sunday, Dec. 18, 2016, at 6:08 p.m., Deputy Gile from the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Central Station was on patrol when he initiated a traffic stop on a vehicle for an observed vehicle code violation. When he approached the vehicle to make contact, the driver, who was later identified as Brandon Espinoza, 23-year-old resident of San Bernardino, fled the scene at a high rate of speed. Espinoza led Gile on a high-speed pursuit for nearly a mile, running stop signs, turning off his lighting equipment and endangering the public. Gile lost sight of the vehicle near Mountain View Avenue and Orange Street. An area check was conducted and the vehicle was located at 11th Street and Sierra Way. The suspects, also including Ernesto Valle, 42-year-old resident of San Bernardino, exited the vehicle while it was still moving and fled in different directions. A perimeter was set up and the suspects were located. A records check on Espinoza identified him as an “Armed and Dangerous” parolee at large with a no bail warrant. A records check on Valle identified him as being on felony probation. Espinoza and Valle were arrested and booked into the Central Detention Center. The vehicle was found to have been reported stolen out of the City of Fontana during a residential burglary. Anyone with information regarding this incident is urged to contact Central Station at (909) 387-3545.
