Do you want to your child to succeed? Want to ensure a better performance when they attend school? One of the keys to that success is the ability to read. The Dorothy Inghram Library is the site for a ten week course of “Mother Read, Father Read” classes meant to help parents connect with their kids through reading and instill in their children the love of reading. Dr. Johari J Hodari is the instructor of these classes, which began on March 12, 2014, and she welcomes any parents who sign up and encourages them to bring their kids. The classes are meant for children ages 2-4. The ten-week course is held on Wednesdays and Saturdays, from 2-4 p.m. Dr. Hodari shares, “literacy as experience, literacy as art, and literacy as process.” Participants who complete the course will receive a certificate of completion, 4-5 new books, a stuffed animal, and a ticket to participate in a raffle for a Hooked-on-Phonics program that covers kindergarten through second grade. The course is offered in both English and Spanish simultaneously. [END] Date: Wednesday, March 12, 2014 Time: 3:00 p.m. Event Location: Dorothy Inghram Branch Library Address: 1505 W.
