After celebrating its 125-year history, the First Baptist Church of Redlands has chosen to offer new programs starting this fall. They will be anchored in the traditions of worship, study and service but sharpened by a new schedule and programming which acknowledges the diverse and changing culture of the Inland Empire area.
The most obvious change in the fall will be a move to a single worship service that will take place at 10:30 each Sunday morning. This move responds to the strong appeal and valuing of the inter-generational nature of the FBCR faith community and this change will enable the entire community to come together each Sunday in a single worship service. The single service will also allow the church to be more welcoming to newcomers by insuring that newcomers see the church as a whole rather than in its parts.
Sunday School classes for all from toddlers through seniors will be expanded this fall to include shorter-term topical courses like “God Answering Prayer” and “Science and Faith.” The new schedule will have Sunday School classes before Worship at 9:30 a.m.
Built into the Sunday morning schedule will be an intentional Fellowship time following worship at 10:30 a.m., where friends can connect and newcomers can be warmly and informally welcomed into the community.
