Jerry L. Pettis VA Amateur Radio Club will be sponsoring Amateur Radio Classes at the Jerry L. Pettis Memorial VA Medical Center in Loma Linda. General classes will begin Thurs., April 17, 2014, from 6-9 p.m.
The classes will be held in the Community Living Center, located on the south side of the medical center. The classes will prepare students for the Federal Communication Commission’s license test.
The Jerry L. Pettis VA Amateur Radio Club is one of only a few HAM Radio clubs located in a VA facility. Volunteers who train with and maintain the radio equipment each week provide the facility with an important back-up communication capability in case of emergency.
For additional information or to enroll in the class, contact the instructor, Jason Knight at dino.k6dno@gmail.com.
