The "Blast of the Past Car Show" took place next to Jenny's Diner in Highland recently with a unique collection of cars on display. Local classic car owners presented their vehicles from the thirties to the eighties as the DJ provided '50s music to set the theme of the event. Janine Stack, whose friend coordinated the show, noted, "My favorite is the Ranchero." Owner of the popular 1970 Ranchero, Jim Scott, had a word to say on the many members who present their cars at the car shows such as this one, "A lot of us are members of the Old Fart's Racing Team (of Riverside). Now we have about six hundred members." The car show is held on the third Sunday of every month. The event not only presents vehicles, but a collection of entertaining games are also available for the entire family to enjoy such as the lug nut toss, RC racing, and horseshoe darts.
