Health Career Academy students from Vista del Lago are becoming regular fixtures over at Hendrick Ranch Elementary. The group came to The Ranch in December to host a health fair for families, and recently they came back and talked about health and medical careers with fifth-grade classes, covering topics such as the amount of salt and sugar found in common foods. They also brought stethoscopes for students to try, and instruments to measure Body Mass Index. This involvement was a student-initiated project that was part of a competition. Almost like having your own medical team on-site.
