The Moreno Valley Parks and Community Services Department is hosting several special holiday activities. The festivities begin on Monday, Dec. 8, with Santa Live. From 5:30 to 7 p.m., local children may speak to Santa Claus on the local channel MVTV-3 by telephoning him at 951-413-3059. In addition to Santa listening to the wish lists of callers, he will also give out prizes to youth who correctly answer trivia questions about Santa and his friends. This free event is available to children of all ages. On Dec. 13, both Breakfast with Santa and Snow Day, sponsored by San Manuel Band of Mission Indians, will be held at the Conference and Recreation Center located on 14075 Frederick St. For $8 (resident fee), children 2 to 12 years of age can join Santa from 8 to 10 a.m. for a merry celebration with games, crafts, and a breakfast made especially for them. Then, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., kids will experience a day filled with snow fun. A $5 fee (resident fee) will provide children ages 12 years and under 45 minutes of access to tons of snow, unlimited games, crafts and a visit with Santa Claus. The 2014 holiday events will conclude with two additional activities for youth. The Junior Chef's Holiday Workshop will be held on Tuesday, Dec. 16, at the TownGate Community Center located at 13100 Arbor Park Lane from 6 to 8:00 p.m. For $8 (resident fee), children 4 to 12 years of age can learn to make fantastic holiday treats. Recipes and taste tests of treats made during the evening will be available for children to take home. Additionally, the creative Holiday Craft Session will be held on Thursday, Dec. 18, from 6 to 8 p.m. at the TownGate Community Center. For $8 (resident fee), children 4 to 12 years of age will make several special crafts to give friends and family as gifts. Pre-registration is recommended for all youth holiday activities, and discounted rates are available when registering for multiple programs.
