Get your explorer hats on; it's time to discover the world of the the craziest, wackiest and weirdest animals.
At the Christian and Missionary Alliance Church's Vacation Bible School, this imaginary adventure is paired with Bible teachings and lessons about faith.
The theme of the Vacation Bible School (VBS) this year was "Weird Animals", a subject easily able to grab the attention of the children attendees.
The church has held a VBS since the 1970s, and while the theme may change every year, the goal and message of the summer program has remained consistent.
Heather Svihl, director of the VBS program, elaborated on this goal: "This week, we [will learn] that Jesus' love is one of a kind, that even when the children are alone, afraid or scared, Jesus is with them."
The "Weird Animals" program is designed to direct the attention of all participants towards everyday examples of faith and God's influence.
Through food, games, activities, videos and even a supplemental game download that kids can optionally access at home with the help of their parents, the program strives to instill religious values.
