As we’ve mentioned a few times over the summer, our teachers were hard at work all summer so they are prepared as students return next week. We also had over 75% of our teachers complete training on the new English Language Arts textbooks that align with the new California Common Core State Standards. In addition, about 80 new teachers attended our New Teacher Orientation this week. We’re happy to have them in the MVUSD family and are excited to watch them champion equity for our students. As we start our new year, our educators are looking forward to a strong year of professional development through our six hours on district-wide flex days. The theme for these days will be “Champion Equity and Achievement for ALL Students”

“We’ll be looking at multiple assessments and using them to guide our instruction with renewed focus to instruct students effectively to eliminate educational gaps,” said Dr. Sue Buster, Director of Professional Development and Digital Learning.
