Beginning March 4, 2014 the March Field Air Museum’s Research Library was open for public use three times a week. Hours of operation are Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday from 9 a.m.-12 p.m.
The Yeager Family Library houses 5,500 volumes with various subjects including: “Women Pilots of WWII”, “The World’s Worst Aircraft”, “The History of Aircraft Noseart” and volumes of aeronautic manuals as well as yearbooks from many military bases. There is also a children’s section where youth can learn more about flight and aviation heroes such as Amelia Airhart and Charles Lindberg.
The use of the library is free with museum admission or active museum membership status. Museum admission is $10 for adults and $5 for children ages 5 to 11. Membership levels vary and may be accessed through the museum’s website at www.marchfield.org.
Over 500 titles (non-archival) may be checked out for a three-week period to active museum members.
