Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Redlands- Riverside will be hosting a community block party style celebration.
This celebration is in honor of the children and the community that they live in. Research shows that when adults spend quality time with kids it helps them develop a positive self-image and a sense of belonging, usefulness and purpose.
Day for Kids will be held Saturday, Sept. 20, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.
This event is free and everyone in the community is encouraged to come out and enjoy the food, fun and music. Thrill seekers and adventures can try their hand at the rock wall or can explore their inner PGA tour master with the golf themed activities.
There will also be arts and crafts and face painting for the kids. Throughout the event the members of Boys & Girls Clubs will be sharing their talents as they perform center stage with songs and dances.
Local restaurants like Panda Express, a long time Day for Kids supporter will be providing food. The Kiwanis Clubs of Redlands (noon), the City of Redlands and several other businesses and organizations will be partnering to help host this great event.
Boys & Girls Clubs Hansberger Site Director, Eddie Hernandez, is excited to see the community come together once again. He says, “Day for Kids is an opportunity for adults to truly invest in their youth. We want to get those relationships built and show the community what we can do together.”
Last year’s event was a success with so many families, kids, volunteers and sponsors coming out to support and celebrate youth. There is still plenty of time to volunteer or set up a booth at the event as a sponsor.
Volunteers can help set up or manage some of the activities that will be available. Sponsors will have a chance to support the event and introduce their business to the community at no cost at all. Together we can lend a hand, give a gift and change the life of a child.
