Summer is here and we always need an entertaining activity for the kids and adults as well. Rock painting is really fun and economical. Start with a little outdoor activity of rock hunting in a nearby field or local home improvement store. The rest of the supplies can be picked up at your local craft store or Walmart/superstore
There are so many rock painting ideas, little bugs, animals, fun words like love or inspiration, flowers, funny faces, monsters, or even glue small rocks onto a board to create a picture. My personal favorite project is painting a lady bug as they are always easy and fun. If your painters are having a hard time thinking up ideas, show them a few images on Pinterest, but we don’t want this to turn into an electronic activity
Have everyone think of the image they want to paint before pouring tiny amounts of paint onto the paper plates. Supplies: You will need acrylic paints, smaller bottles are best so you can afford a variety of colors, paper plates for paint palettes, white glue, economical paint brushes and old City News Newspapers to cover the painting surface. If you really want to add some fun throw in a package of googly eyes or rhinestones. If the rocks are going to live in the garden or flower beds, you may want to spray them with a clear paint for longer wear.
