Los Angeles-based oil painter and muralist Timothy Robert Smith will present a tutorial on contemporary oil painting materials at the March 8 meeting of the Loma Linda Cultural Arts Association (LLCAA), which will be held from 2 to 4 p.m.
The event will be held in the Loma Linda Senior Center, located in the southeastern corner of the City of Loma Linda civic complex at 25541 Barton Road. There is a fee of $3 per attendee.
During his presentation, Smith will discuss color theory, mineral versus modern pigments, color mixing, building permanent paintings and related topics.
Smith, who has an M.F.A. degree in studio arts from Laguna College of Art and Design, and a B.F.A. degree from Cal State University Los Angeles (CSULA), uses observational techniques to portray a multi-dimensional perspective of the universe. He currently teaches at CSULA.
