On April 24, 2018, the Colton Police Department held its annual awards ceremony honoring Police Department personnel who distinguished themselves during 2017. The awards presented were as follows:
· Sergeant Robert Wilson – Bravery Medal – for actions taken during an active shooter incident.
· Officer Mike Sandoval – Lifesaving Medal – for lifesaving of a child with no pulse and not breathing.
· Corporal Eric Campa – Unit Citation - for actions taken during an active shooter incident.
· Detective Greg Castillo - Unit Citation - for actions taken during an active shooter incident.
· Sergeant Steve Davis - Unit Citation - for actions taken during an active shooter incident.
· Lieutenant Hank Dominguez - Unit Citation - for actions taken during an active shooter incident.
· Corporal Anthony Jaeger - Unit Citation - for actions taken during an active shooter incident.
· Corporal Daniel Lunt - Unit Citation - for actions taken during an active shooter incident.
· Officer Edgar Perez - Unit Citation - for actions taken during an active shooter incident.
· Corporal Jaime Ramirez - Unit Citation - for actions taken during an active shooter incident.
· Dispatcher Nicole Reynolds - Unit Citation - for actions taken during an active shooter incident.
· Officer Saul Salazar - Unit Citation - for actions taken during an active shooter incident.
· Corporal Chad Ward - Unit Citation - for actions taken during an active shooter incident.
· Sergeant Robert Wilson - Unit Citation - for actions taken during an active shooter incident.
· Officer Rich Randolph – Award of Distinction – for expertise in youth diversion programs.
· Officer Rich Randolph – Officer of the Year – for continued excellent job performance and conducting numerous school and youth-related programs.
· Dispatcher Nicole Reynolds – Dispatcher of the Year – for continued excellent job performance and actions taken during an active shooter incident.
· Community Service Officer Alexis Gomez – Employee of the Year - for excellent job performance and participation in numerous Department programs.
· Officer Adam Koahou – Mothers Against Drunk Driving (MADD) Award – for consistent public safety efforts in finding and arresting impaired drivers.
