Don Singer is up for re-election this November.

Allow me to introduce myself.  I am Don Singer and I am running for re-election to the Board of Trustees of the San Bernardino Community College District.  The Board is  composed of seven elected officials who govern Crafton Hills College and San Bernardino Valley College and I would like to continue  my service to the over 20,000 students whose lives and fortunes are improved by their going  to one of two fine colleges. As to why I would like to continue serving the students I should like to quote part of the endorsement given me by Supervisor James Ramos, with whom I served on the College Board for five years.  James said the following: "I know Don as a hard-working and effective member of the Board.  When issues came before the Board his first questions was always the following:  'How will this affect the students at CHC and SBVC?'". I am also very pleased and grateful that all of my colleagues on the Board of Trustees have endorsed me for re-election, thus showing their appreciation and respect for my serving with them to serve our students. I  am proud to say that during my service on the Board my colleagues and I have accomplished the following results, all of which have led to greater student  successes: (1) we have helped the graduates of our colleges to earn higher wages and salaries through  our  22 award-winning career education programs; (2)  we have built stronger bridges with our neighboring K-12 school districts to foster a college-going culture; (3) we have launched a  partnership with the University of La Verne to award bachelor's degrees at Crafton Hills College; and (4) we have saved taxpayers  some $10 million by refinancing bonds from Measure M and Measure P. Among my goals should I be re-elected are the following: (1) continue our on time on budget building program; and (2) continue to press to make textbooks more affordable. I would appreciate your vote again so I can keep working for you. Don Singer
