The United Methodist Churches of San Bernardino will be holding their Fifth Annual Thanksgiving Dinner on Thanksgiving Day, Nov. 26, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at St. Paul’s United Methodist Church, 785 N. Arrowhead.
This Holiday Feast is open to everybody and free to all. The menu is a full Turkey Day meal and there is a clothes closet for those in need of warm wear for the cold winter days. On a day when so many go hungry, this is an opportunity to get some hot food, warm clothes and good fellowship.
There are three parts of this event that public participation is invited:
1. Come to the feast! It’s open to all. Pass the word around your neighborhood.
2. Contribute food and goods. To cook for 500+ people takes a lot of groceries! Any contributions may be delivered directly to St. Paul’s UMC at 785 N. Arrowhead in San Bernardino. Questions on what is needed can be called to the church at 909-889-3609.
3. Be a volunteer. If you or your family would like a really different Thanksgiving Day, come and “work” the event. Over the past four years, hundreds of citizens have taken their day to be the crew, not just come and eat. This is a great opportunity to serve and see that others may not live the life your family enjoys. Volunteers are needed all day.
If you would like to join the volunteers, please call the St. Paul’s UMC office at 909-889-3609 and a church member will contact you with details.
Each year’s event serves nearly 500 people and attracts over 100 volunteers giving time to make the event successful.
