The National Day of Prayer for the city of Colton was held at noon on May 1st at the Colton Christian Church by the Colton Ministerial Association.
The theme was “One Voice United in Prayer” with Anne Graham Lotz serving as Honorary Chairman.
The opening prayer and flag salute was given by Pastor Tom Dicus of Colton Christian Church. Pastor Jonathan Flores led the singing of the “Battle Hymn of the Republic” and closed the event with “God Bless America”.
Mayor Sarah Zamora read the City of Colton's National Day of Prayer Proclamation supported by Councilwoman Susan Olivia.

The following items were prayed for: World Peace and Unity – Pastor Jonathan Flores, Colton 1st Assembly of God Church; Our service men and women, Police Chaplain – Pastor Bob Johnson, Colton Community Church; Our students, teachers, education system - Pastor Johnny Del a Rosa, Colton Echoes of Love Church; police, fire, civic and service Personnel – Pastor Jim Spellman, Centerpoint Church of Colton; the elderly, hungry, financial, security and work opportunities – Pastor Art Chavez, Colton Lighthouse of Christ Church; spiritual awaking of our nation and churches – Pastor Eric Strutz, The Door Christian Fellowship Church of Colton; closing prayer and challenge, Pastor Danny Fuentes, Colton Christian, Living Water Ministry.
An American flag, flown over the Capital in Washington D.C., was donated by Lori McCarver.
