The Redlands Service Club Council and the Mormon Helping Hands joined together once again to bring the Helping Hands Community Day of Service (HHCDS). The first HHCDS took place last year, when 2,300 volunteers, and hundreds of businesses, schools and organizations got together to create a new park in Redlands. Volunteers helped witht hte maintanance of Highland park and the roadsides and median along Redlands Blvd got some new trees and wood chips. A free lunch was provided after the event. Among those organizations who sponsored the event were the Kiwanis Club, the Rotary Club, Music Changing Lives, and some of the local schools. The HHCDS has brought thousands of businesses and on hundreds of beautification project in the past years in Redlands, Highland, Mentone and other surrounding communities.
