Moreno Valley households can receive one free smoke alarm and one free carbon monoxide alarm.

Dear Moreno Valley Residents, As Mayor, one of my top priorities is to ensure Moreno Valley residents are safe in their homes. As fire season approaches, it’s important to think of the many households in this City that may not have working smoke or carbon monoxide detectors.  Those households are not alone. Almost five million homes across the country do not have working smoke detectors, and over 400 people die each year from unintentional carbon monoxide poisoning caused by a faulty or nonexistent alarm.  Smoke and carbon monoxide alarms are an essential part of every Moreno Valley home.  That’s why I have championed the SAFER program, a cutting-edge new initiative that gives out one free smoke alarm and one free carbon monoxide alarm to Moreno Valley households.  SAFER, which stands for Smoke Alarms and Fire Education Resources, aims to keep Moreno Valley families safe. All you have to do is stop by City Hall during business hours and get your Fire Safety Starter Pack. If you’ve already bought a smoke or carbon monoxide alarm, no problem! You can stop by City Hall and receive a rebate of up to $50 for your purchase.  The SAFER program is just one way I am making sure Moreno Valley families stay safer this year.  You can learn more about the SAFER program by visiting moval.org/safer.
