As a non-profit organization supporting traditional values for the city of Redlands, Awaken Redlands wholeheartedly supports the candidacy of Lawrence Hebron, Jeannette Wilson, and Candy Olson for the Redlands School Board. These three individuals have the necessary qualifications, experience, and values to effectively serve our community and champion the best interests of our children. First, Lawrence Hebron's extensive background as a teacher makes him an ideal candidate for Area 3. Trustee Area 3 includes East Highland, NW Redlands, and West Loma Linda. He has firsthand knowledge of the challenges and needs of educators, and he understands the importance of providing a quality education to all students. With his experience in the classroom, he can offer valuable insights and solutions to improve our school system and enhance educational outcomes. Hebron’s passion for teaching and dedication to the well-being of students make him a strong advocate for education. Jeannette Wilson's background as a licensed clinical social worker makes her a valuable candidate for Area 4. Trustee Area 4 includes far Eastern Highland, North Redlands, North Mentone, and Forest Falls. With her expertise in mental health and social services, she is well-equipped to positively impact the social and emotional needs of students. She understands the consequences external factors can have on a child's academic performance and will work towards creating a supportive and safe environment for all students. This commitment aligns with the current crisis of mental health in schools, making her an ideal candidate to offer policies to promote student’s safety, well-being, and increase transparency between parents and the school board.
In Area 5, Candy Olson's experience as a registered nurse makes her a strong candidate for area 5. Trustee Area 5 encompasses East Redlands and South Mentone. Her background in healthcare equips her with the skills to prioritize the health and safety of our students. With her knowledge of public health and infectious diseases, she can help navigate our schools properly through any future pandemic or other health crisis. Keeping schools open in a safe manner is absolutely necessary for children’s psychological health and academic success. Furthermore, her experience working with diverse populations and advocating for their rights make her a compassionate and empathetic leader who will ensure that all students of any background and beliefs feel valued, respected, and their parent’s concerns heard. One of the key reasons we support these three candidates is their shared commitment to keeping our children's innocence intact. In today's society, children are exposed to a plethora of information and influences that can have a negative impact on their development. We believe that Hebron, Wilson, and Olson will work towards creating a safe and nurturing environment for our children, where they can learn and grow without being exposed to mature or inappropriate content. Furthermore, these candidates all prioritize keeping parents informed and involved in their children's education. As most members of our organization are parents, we understand the importance of being aware of what our children are learning and how they are being taught. Hebron, Wilson, and Olson will work towards increasing communication and transparency between the school board and parents, ensuring that we are all actively involved in our children's academic journey. Finally, we strongly support these candidates' commitment to keeping classrooms politically neutral. In today's polarized climate, it is crucial that our schools remain a place for learning and not a platform for political agendas. Hebron, Wilson, and Olson will ensure that our schools are free from biased ideologies and that our children are not influenced by political agendas in the classroom. In conclusion, Awaken Redlands urges the residents of Redlands to support Lawrence Hebron, Jeannette Wilson, and Candy Olson for the school board. Their combined experience, values, and dedication to our children's well-being make them the best candidates to lead our school district. Let's prioritize academics, protect our children's innocence,
keep parents informed, and maintain politically neutral classrooms by electing these three exceptional individuals to the Redlands School Board.
