“The Cove”

The April meeting of the Loma Linda Cultural Arts Association will feature as demonstrating artist Lynn Fearman, whose father was magazine illustrator Charles E. Schneeman.  Thus, art education was integral to early experience. Work as a freelance graphic artist commenced her art career, but for nearly four decades she has concentrated on fine arts, her medium oil. Each of the great artists with whom she has studied has given her a new learning experience, but Freeman believes that learning “never ends”.  She loves the mild California weather that allows her to paint the year ‘round, furthering her exploration of the natural world around us.  The payoff of constant practice is heightened speed and accuracy, in perceiving and portraying what she loves.  Her ability to give reveal the inner fire of natural scenes is well illustrated by “The Cove”, seen above. First-place and Gold Medal awards dot the resume of Fearman’s participation as painter, in regional art shows.  She has also served as a judge or juror in similar events.  Her work has been featured in Southwest Art Magazine on two occasions; it is available for viewing at the Women’s City Club of Pasadena.  Ms. Fearman is represented by La Galeria Gitana of San Fernando.  She is affiliated with both regional and national art organizations. All of that experience and expertise is available to those who attend her private and group workshops, held throughout the LA area.  It is also available to those who attend the LLCAA April meeting, on Sunday, April 7, from 2:00 to 4:00 pm! Loma Linda Senior Center, located at the southeastern corner of the Loma Linda Civic Center complex (25541 Barton Road), is the site of LLCAA meetings.  The public is welcome to enjoy a setting which allows for commentary and interchange with the artist.  Non LLCAA members are asked for a $5.00 donation at the door.  For Loma Linda University Students, there is no charge.
