Some volunteers from Grand Terrace High School contributed to the Clean Up Days.

Keep Grand Terrace Beautiful held Community Clean Up Days on April 18 and 19. Over the course of both days, the event brought out over 100 community volunteers. Grand Terrace High School's football team, Girls Scout Troop 610, the team at Barnett Realty, Boy Scout Troop 242 and The Rec Center were among the hard working volunteers. Many people donated supplies, water, snacks, vests, gardening supplies, trash bags and more; the Nagle’s donated over 50 much-needed garden gloves. Walgreens donated six cases of water as well as a monetary donation to the Foundation of Grand Terrace for Grand Terrace Clean Up Days. The youngest volunteers, at age 4, inspired more people to join and volunteer their time. The Foundation of Grand Terrace President Tom Rice and members of the Grand Terrace Council Mayor Darcy McNaboe, Councilman Bill Hussey and Interim City Manager Carol Jacobs also came out to lend a hand. Community members showed their city pride by picking up trash and weeds at many areas throughout the city. There were over 40 bags of trash and weeds, and 11 bags of recyclables collected. Keep Grand Terrace Beautiful, under The Foundation of Grand Terrace will facilitate the next Community Clean Up Day this upcoming fall. If you would like to be placed on the contact list for future Grand Terrace Clean Up Days dates, would like to help with community painting projects, or would like to donate, please contact Keep Grand Terrace Beautiful via email at GTcleanup@grandterracefoundation.org.
