Job’s Daughters Bethel No. 35 Moreno Valley will be presenting two of their own with life-time memberships during a presentation called “Majority Ceremony”. Kristina Schoben (21), a graduate of Canyon Springs High School, has been a member of Job’s Daughters since she was 10 years old. During her tenure she served as Honored Queen twice and as Honored Queen pro-tem numerous times. Her dedication earned her an election to state office in 2011. Kristina currently works as a Youth Development Specialist for the Boys and Girls Club of Moreno Valley while she studies for her teaching credential through the University of Phoenix. "The greatest thing about Job’s Daughters is that it helps build confidence and teaches great values, all while having fun being given the opportunity to travel, give back to the community, and meet many great people," said Kristina. Ashley Johnson (20), was initiated into Bethel 257, Riverside when she was 10. In 2010, she joined Bethel No. 35 in Moreno Valley and served both bethels in the leadership position of Honored Queen. Over the past 10 years she has also served as Sweetheart and Princess of Moreno Valley DeMolay (another Masonic-sponsored youth organization). Her dedication to these organizations has earned her much recognition. She has received 8 Masonic scholarships totaling over $20,000 and an interest-free loan. She currently attends University of La Verne as a math major. Roxanne Johnson, Ashley’s mom, states “Job’s Daughters offers a lot more than a place to hang out. It can be a growing experience which teaches public speaking, leadership skills, time management, philanthropy, and how to get along with others. I truly believe our Masonic organizations played an important role in guiding my daughter. I am also overjoyed at the amount of support they have given her towards college.” Job’s Daughters International is a nearly 95-year-old Masonic-sponsored youth organization for young women ages 10-20. Bethel 35 originated in Riverside in the 1920s but was reorganized and moved to Moreno Valley 26 years ago. “We strive to provide a wholesome environment based on the foundation of high morals, love of country, love of family and friends, and respect for others throughout the world” said Ms. Annette Stauber, an adult leader, who added, “Pre-teen and teenage girls need support from their peers and it is here in abundance. The example set by older members like Kristina and Ashley has an immeasurable impact on the younger members.” The public is welcome to attend the event on Saturday, March 22 at 12 p.m. at the Montee Masonic Center located on Sunnymead Blvd.
