Jefferson Hunt Elementary School Student searches for the perfect school backpack. Funds raised by East Valley Water District staff provided 356 backpacks to local students.

East Valley Water District welcomed students during the first day of school at Jefferson Hunt Elementary with new backpacks and school supplies. District employees raised funds to donate 356 backpacks to students who might not otherwise be able to afford these school necessities. “Thank you so much! All the students were bouncing out of school today with their new backpacks,” said Kristin Kolling, School Principal at Jefferson Hunt Elementary. The District is committed to enhancing the quality of life for its customers beyond providing reliable water service through fundraising efforts that result in school supply and clothing drives for local children in need. This program is in its third year and continues to engage District staff in public service and community activities. “The employees at East Valley Water District have shown their generosity toward members of our community,” said John Mura General Manager/CEO. “I am proud of their fundraising efforts along with our partnerships with Century 21 Showcase and the Clinical Laboratory of San Bernardino for their donations to support this school supply drive without the use of any public funds.”
