A motorcyclist was sent to the hospital with multiple fractures to his leg after he was struck by a vehicle Thursday, Sept. 17 morning at the intersection of University Street and Citrus Avenue.
The 55-year-old Redlands man was riding his 2005 BMW 650 motorcycle north on University Street shortly before 6 a.m.
As he crossed into the intersection at Citrus Avenue, a 2001 Ford 500 driven by a 33-year-old Loma Linda woman, began a left turn from southbound University onto eastbound Citrus and struck the motorcycle rider, causing him to crash.
Redlands Fire Department paramedics treated the man on scene before he was transported by ambulance to Loma Linda University Medical Center.
His injuries were not believed to be life-threatening. No other injuries were reported in the collision.
The intersection was closed for several hours as traffic officers investigated.
