The Inland Empire Job Corps Center, is gearing up for the 14th annual Thanksgiving pie baking feast for the less fortunate in the community.
For the past 13 years, pies have been donated to The Salvation Army in San Bernardino. The Inland Empire Job Corps culinary arts students will bake holiday pies to be donated, a donation that has become a tradition for the culinary arts students and The Salvation Army.
The culinary arts students will start baking the pies on Wednesday, Nov. 19, at 10 a.m. and will deliver the pies on Thursday, Nov. 20 at 10 a.m. to The Salvation Army shelter located at 925 W. 10th Street in San Bernardino.
A big component of the Job Corps program is “service learning” training. By focusing on social, political, and cultural issues that are impacting the community, the Job Corps program aims to instill an appreciation for helping others and their community in their students. Leaders of the Job Corps program share that the goal of the program is to see its students become productive and contributing members of their communities and society.
