Youth Action Project (YAP) hosted the first swearing-in ceremony for its new AmeriCorps Members. On Sept. 13, YAP swore in 40 new AmeriCorps Members who committed to one year of direct service that will focus on increasing literacy skills among San Bernardino area high school students.
San Bernardino County 3rd District Supervisor James Ramos presided over the swearing-in ceremony.
The Youth Action Project, which administers an AmeriCorps program in San Bernardino, works to help San Bernardino’s youth develop the skills and habits needed to experience economic and social success. This is done primarily through tutoring, mentoring, and positive youth development for local high school students.
