On May 17th, Operation Silver Star held its second annual event in Moreno Valley at the March Inland Port Authority. Co-Founders Delia Delacruz and husband Richard Delacruz ran the event. The event consisted of a vintage car show, airplane displays, and booths.
The vintage car competition was judged based on different categories. These categories were broken down into Top 10, Best Engineered, Best Mini-Truck, Best Classic, Best Motorcycle, Best Paint, and Best Show.
Chuck Scott from Simply Choice says, "All the money is benefiting wounded veterans from every branch."
There were many branches that were accepting people to recruit. Operation Silver Star even had clubs for retired or current veterans, one of whom was a member of the USAF Flight Training Center, Joan Cooper.
Joan Cooper served in the Navy Nurse Core for 20 years and is now a part of the USAF Flight Training Center. She had her airplane in display along with other members of the club.
Many groups at the event were there to support our wounded veterans or to spread awareness about the different branches of the military and what they had to offer.
