REDLANDS>> On April 10, guest speaker Jan Orbaker, the director of the Redlands Humane Society, spoke at the Redlands Community Senior Center's Desert and Dialogue program.
Orbaker spoke at length about the organization and their animal adoption program. Orbaker brought several of these animals with her for the presentation.
The Redlands Humane Society is run entirely by volunteers who foster and take animals into their homes. These animals are cared for until they are adopted.
Every Thursday, the organization attends Market Night, which takes place in downtown Redlands. Shoppers can view animals from the pet shelter and get started on adopting a pet.
Dessert and Dialogue is a weekly series that takes place after the senior nutritional lunch. Hot meals are served Monday through Friday, from 11:30 p.m. to 12:30 p.m. Meals are available to all adults, and a donation of $3 is encouraged. Guests under sixty can enjoy lunch for $6.
Future Dessert and Dialogue presentations include Huell Houser’s California’s Gold with guest speaker Luis Fuerte on April 24.
