Photo Description:

Omnitrans is planning premium transit service for the western San Bernardino Valley along the Sierra Ave., Foothill Blvd., Milliken Ave., and Holt Blvd. corridors to help alleviate congestion, reduce travel times, increase ridership and improve connectivity to major destinations including Metrolink. The public is invited to learn more and provide feedback at information meetings on June 3—5, 2014. Similar to the sbX rapid transit line recently launched in San Bernardino and Loma Linda, the “West Valley Connector” service would offer: service every 10 to 15 minutes, stops spaced farther apart than local bus service, transit signal priority, and enhanced stations with lighting, real time bus arrival signs, security cameras and emergency phones. The line would travel through Fontana, Rancho Cucamonga, Ontario, Montclair and Pomona, connecting with major activity centers such as Kaiser Permanente Hospital, Victoria Gardens, Ontario Mills, Citizens Business Bank Arena, Ontario Convention Center and Ontario Airport. Stops also include three Metrolink commuter rail stations in Fontana, Rancho Cucamonga and Pomona. The corridor proposal was developed with input from the cities of Fontana, Montclair, Ontario, Pomona, Rancho Cucamonga, Foothill Transit, Kaiser Permanente, LA Metro, Los Angeles World Airports, Metrolink, Ontario Airport, Ontario Mills, San Bernardino Associated Governments, San Bernardino County and Southern California Associated Governments.
