San Bernardino Ends August on a Healthy Note

On Friday, Aug. 29, the 2nd Annual Let’s Move San Bernardino Health Fair was held. The objective of the event was to create awareness on the risks of obesity and to provide the community with resources including: free health screenings, safety prevention, and health care support. 525 locals attended the fair and received beneficial information from booths, educational materials, participated in family activities, Zumba and learned from healthy food demonstrations. 100 students from San Bernardino elementary schools received free backpacks filled with school supplies. The event was sponsored by Southern California Edison and hosted by a number of local organizations including: Latino Health Collaborative, Boys & Girls Club of San Bernardino, and the Native American Resource Center in collaboration with First 5 San Bernardino, Kaiser Permanente, and Reach Out.
