Valley View student selected for 2015 AllCounty Academic Team

VVHS senior Wesley Poon (pictured fourth from the left) was his school’s Student of the Month earlier this school year. This week, he was one of 10 students selected by the Riverside County Office of Education as a member of the 2015 All-County Academic Team. Wesley and the other nine students were chosen from among 132 seniors hailing from across Riverside County. Each high school was asked to select one to three students, based on their enrollments, students’ GPAs, college entrance exams, class rank, and extracurricular activities. The average GPA for the 2015 All-County Academic Team is 4.5 and the average SAT score is 1942 (the national average is 1497). All nominated MVUSD students include: Mehdi Kazi, Matthew Nieburger and Guido Ponce, CSHS; Melissa Le, Kevin Paule and Mariana Yepez-Estrada, MVHS; Vijay Desai, Maydelle Lorenzo and Wesley Poon, VVHS; and Kaitlyn Bowles, Liliana Garcia and Nancy Valencia, VDLHS.
