The City of Moreno Valley received an Award of Excellence from the California Park and Recreation Society (CPRS) for Lasselle Sports Park. The City's recognition in the category of Excellence in Facility Design will be honored at the 2015 CPRS Conference and Expo in March. Lasselle Sports Park was built as part of a master development agreement and was completed at no cost to the city. The 13-acre park was opened to the public on Sept. 27, 2014 and is located at 17155 Lasselle Street. It has three lighted football fields, a walking track, two playgrounds, restrooms, a concession area and on-site parking. According to Betsy Adams, Parks and Community Services Director, "The CPRS awards program is the highest recognition our agency can receive, and our award is a credit to the staff and partners that made this happen. We are honored to receive this award on behalf of our community." CPRS Executive Director Stephanie Stephens acknowledges that award winning agencies "represent the finest in initiatives addressing community issues, recreation programming, park planning, facility design, and marketing and communications in California."
