MORENO VALLEY>> Vista del Lago High School’s motto is “Take care of yourself, take care of each other, and take care of the school.” A few students were recognized for being an example of those words recently. Asiya Young and Natalie Rosas reported that some prom money needed to be locked away. The two young ladies could easily have considered this someone else’s responsibility; however, they reported it to their teacher, Mrs. Cindy Dolan, who made sure the money was locked away in a safe place. Jasmine Coleman and Tyliayah Lang found a softball bag in the commons area of the school. The two students took the bag to the front office to the lost and found box. The team’s girls and parents were very grateful because the equipment in the bag, worth about $750, was returned safely to its owner. The actions of these students have set a proper example for all students in the Moreno Valley Unified School District and is something for their schools to take pride in for having students of good moral character and responsibility.
