As a precautionary measure, more patrolling was allegedly provided at the Colton High School campus after a shooting message was discovered on a bathroom wall.

A threatening message was discovered inside a Colton High School bathroom on the week of Friday, Oct. 8. The threat was brought to the attention of Colton Police, who patrolled the school throughout the entire week. Although officials confirmed that the message wasn't credible, Officer Ray Mendez explained that the issue was "still taken seriously." As a precautionary measure, more patrolling was allegedly provided on campus and throughout the surrounding area. Two full-time police officers are on campus and share time between schools. No arrests have taken place, and the author of the message has not yet been found. "It was not a specific message. It was very vague," said Officer Mendez. Parents were notified after the message was discovered, and classes resumed in session.
