The evening of a local family took a turn for the worse at 6:24 p.m. last Saturday when a fire erupted from their one-story, single-family residence located on Kalmia Avenue, east of Perris Blvd.
According to retired LA firefighter Bill Thost, who lives just around the corner from where the fire broke out, “firefighters arrived on scene and found the house well involved with fire. One civilian with unknown minor injuries was taken to the hospital. The cause of the fire is under investigation.”
According to the Riverside County Fire Department, the fire was contained by 7:01 p.m. Twenty-seven fire fighters, five fire trucks, two company trucks, and three overhead personnel reported to the scene.
One resident was transported to the local hospital and a fire investigation to determine the cause of the blaze is still underway.
