The county Fire Department and Cal Fire confirmed a firefighter had been hospitalized Saturday, Jan. 25, after he fell ill while cleaning an outdoor grill.
A county Department of Environmental Health report said at approximately 1 p.m. Jan. 25, a firefighter at Station 91 on Lasselle Street was cleaning a grill with a diluted substance, Speedball 2000, and Brillo soap pads when he became ill, possibly due to the fumes.
