Saturday, July 28th marked the annual regional Corporate Prayer Walk. Churches from all around the Inland Empire formed a coalition to pray for their streets, government and surrounding communities. “The vision is to pray for our nation and government officials. We pray that they will make good decisions with God’s wisdom and compassion. Also that we pray for the neighborhoods and our community that they will come to know Jesus in a mighty way. We prayed for our schools, families, and for the churches as well that we will continue to go outside the four walls of our church and pour out unto the community in Jesus’ name. We prayed for lost souls that they will be saved and set free.” Said Rosie Ferreri of Echoes of Love Ministries in Colton. It was her vision, given by God, that developed into a reality with the help of the local body of Christ. Some participants in Colton gathered at Echoes of Love, prayed in unity and took to the streets praying along the way as they headed toward Colton’s Civic Center. Sovereign Grace Impact Ministry, another local church based in Colton, gathered at Cesar Chavez Park to begin their journey and ministered to those they came in contact with there and then made their way also to the Civic Center in downtown Colton. Lighthouse of Christ Church, based out of Colton as well, also locked arms with the other two ministries to cover the city and community near and dear to their heart. All three ministries as well as Something Beautiful Something Good Ministry, Deborah Co., concerned residents, and “prayer warriors,” prayed along the route and with all those they came in contact with along the way. Gathering in unity at the final stop- Colton’s Civic Center, they prayed for the city officials to lead with wisdom and compassion, taking into account all the issues facing our cities today. At this, the final stop on a mission to take back the streets of their community, all those in attendance finished of the event with more prayer, and worship songs and of course speaking life into the city using the Word of God. Storm Shelter Ministries in Fontana headed up that region’s Prayer Walk following in suite with the vision and the mission of the event, “praying around their neighborhoods and for people throughout their neighborhoods,” added Ferrari. Grand Terrace’s own Church of Fire In Christ (COFIC), as well as their Spanish Ministry, Iglesia De Fe En Cristo took the streets as well to cover a city which, like every city in this nation, also needs prayer. Meeting at the church, located at 12354 Mt. Vernon Ave in the heart of Grand Terrace, those willing to be obedient to the needs of their community showed up bright and early Saturday for the task at hand. Some participants arrived with worship flags to wave over their streets, some with bibles in hand, and some even ready to literally carry the cross along the route. All in unity set out toward San Bernardino County Fire Station 23, located between COFIC and Grand Terrace City Hall. The entire crew on duty welcomed the prayers of the team and joined hands in unity to pray for the city they serve as well. Making their way toward Grand Terrace City Hall, passing Azure Hills SDA church praying for parishioners as they filled in for their services, as well as for the foster agency and counseling center located on Barton Road. “We are here to serve the community, each one of you pray for the assignments and issues we discussed as well as for the blended families, single mothers, the government of this city and this nation,” expressed Sophie Carrillo, Associate Pastor at COFIC. The route finished up at City News Group with a much appreciated prayer for God’s direction and guidance as well as His blessings. The prayer teams headed back to the meeting point for rejoicing and praises for what they know, by faith, is going to come to pass.
