The Inland Empire Derby Divas held back-to-back bouts at Cal Skate in Grand Terrace on Saturday, Sept 6.
Playing in front of a full home crowd, the Flame Fatales beat the visiting Foothill Foxy Flyers 204 to 172 in the first game.
In the second bout, the Sleazy Riders held off the Knee-High Knockouts with a final score of 104 to 87.
For those unfamiliar with how Roller Derby is played, the objective is for a "jammer" to skate through the opposing teams defensive line with help from their offensive line. Scoring is determined by how many defensive players are passed by the jammer, but tackling makes it difficult.
"It takes a unique kind of woman to get hit, stand up, and get back in the game," said "Kawi Girl" of the Foothill Foxy Flyers.
