SBVCs Melchor Named 3CFCA Player of the Week

Lauren Melchor, a sophomore at Valley College who plays shortstop on the softball team, was honored as the Player of the Week in the season’s third week.

San Bernardino Valley College softball player, sophomore shortstop Lauren Melchor (Redlands East Valley) was named the California Community College Fastpitch Coaches Association (3CFCA) Week 3 Player of the Week. According to the 3CFCA website, Melchor was nominated by SBVC Softball Head Coach Jerry Tivey because, “in the five games in which she appeared, SBVC went 5-1. Melchor batted .625 on the week (10 for 16), with six runs scores, five RBI's, three stolen bases, and a pair of doubles. In a 7-1 win over the Sylmar L.A. Mission Eagles, Melchor went 4 for 5 with 3 RBI's and a run scored. She followed that up in the second game of the Wolverines' double-header with the Eagles by going 3 for 4 with three runs scored.”
