Mayor Frank Navarro welcomed Supervisor Josie Gonzales and a crowd of nearly 50 Council Members, Commissioners, City staff and citizens to the groundbreaking of another retail center in Colton. The Colton Gateway Shopping Center will be located at the southeast corner of Valley Boulevard and Pepper Avenue in Colton. Developers Scott Fawcett of the Marinita Development Group and Michael Lundin of Canaan Pacific Development Group are partnering to develop the site. The I-10 freeway-visible center will be home to a 3,000 square foot Starbucks, a drive-through Habit Burger Grill, a Popeye’s Chicken and other retail establishments. Starbucks is expected to open in early fall, to be followed by the other eateries.
