
Colton Council Votes Suchil as Mayor Pro Tem

The Colton City Council voted Isaac Suchil as the city's newest mayor pro tem during a council reorganization at the regular meeting on Jan. 21 to succeed David Toro in the role.
Suchil has been an active city councilmember overseeing Colton's District 6 since he was elected in December 2012 to serve his second term through December 2016. He was first elected to the council in 2004 to represent the city's District 6.
Suchil represents Colton on several local and regional agencies, boards and committees, including:
* Agua Mansa Industrial Growth Association (AMIGA)
* Colton / San Bernardino Regional Tertiary Treatment and Water Reclamation Authority Board (RIX JPA)
* Colton Beautification-District 1 Committee
* Colton Bridge Committee
* Colton Business Retention Committee
* Colton City Manager Recruitment Committee
* Colton Military Banner Committee
* Colton Political Reform Committee
* Colton Sign Committee
* Solid Waste Advisory Task Force (SWAT)
Suchil has devoted over 26 years to a career in law enforcement and has been an active Colton community member. He has also served as a member of the Planning Commission and the Parks and Recreation Commission, during which he served as chairman and spearheaded the process for reviewing the current Parks and Recreation Foundation, helping make programs more accessible to the community's youth.
The current council is as follows: Mayor Sarah Zamora, District 1 Councilmember David Toro, District 2 Councilmember Frank Gonzales, District 3 Councilmember Frank Navarro, District 4 Councilmember Susan Oliva, District 5 Councilmember Deirdre Bennett, and Mayor Pro Tem District 6 Isaac Suchil.
