Skyler Lewis is known to be an outstanding student athlete at Grand Terrace High School. She has received multiple awards for not only her excellence in three different sports - volleyball, basketball, and track - but also for her academics. Throughout her three varsity high school athletic careers, she has received and maintained above a 4.0 GPA. On Thursday, Nov. 13, she signed her National Letter of Intent on a full scholarship to attend and play basketball for the University of California, Riverside. "Skyler is an exceptional student athlete, and we are so proud of you... it's been an honor having you on this team and we are looking forward to this last season for your senior year," Varsity Girls Basketball Coach Johnny Vasquez said. Lewis' parents proudly wore UCR Mom and Dad shirts while Lewis wore a UC Riverside basketball jersey. As she signed her Letter of Intent, Lewis started tearing up a bit. A friend in the crowd yelled, "Don't cry!" as she replied, "I can't help it," with a smile on her face. Lewis will be attending UC Riverside to start her college basketball career in 2015.
