City Group News Mission Statement
We are coming into a new Inland Empire.
The change is evident.
The housing boom has brought us a climate
of diversification of people, of ideas about
how our community should grow, an abundance
of activities, a host of new businesses,
and new challenges.
And business in Anycity America is a major
part of building communities, but that relationship
must also be symbiotic.
It is a give and take of corporate growth
that allows a society to mature in the right
way. Businesses must think about giving
back to the community where they have set
up shop, and in turn, communities will patronize
and support their local businesses.
At the other end of the scope, there are
the aspects of development that sometimes
plow ahead, leaving community concerns behind
in the dust. We want to stand squarely in
the middle, accurately and fairly reporting
the events of the week, and give our readers
as up to date information as we possibly
can about the issues that impact them.
We will give our readers a chance to rebut,
as they see it, any side of city government
that they may disagree with, that is the
foundation of a real democracy.
And then, there is the human side of everyday
affairs that always deserves extra attention.
So many people have a heart to volunteer,
they take time out from their busy family
and work schedules to give back to their
community. Our newspaper wants to capture
the lines of their stories because they
really are the glue that holds us, as a
society, together.
City News Group is committed to provide
you, the reader, with the truest sense of
what’s happening in our tri-city area, and
with the most accurate information possible.
We believe that if we keep our readers informed
about what’s going on in our cities, our
inevitable rapid business expansion, awareness
of the civic processes that so strongly
impact our lives, then our community will
able to make the right choices going forward.
Thank you,
Margie Miller, Publisher of the City News
