Assemblymember Cheryl R. Brown (D-San Bernardino) announced that she will seek a third term to represent California’s 47th Assembly District. Since 2012, Assemblymember Brown has represented the cities of Colton, Fontana, Grand Terrace, Rialto, the southwest parts of San Bernardino, and the communities of Bloomington and Muscoy. “It is an honor for me to officially announce my candidacy for the 47th Assembly District,” stated Assemblymember Brown. “During my tenure, I have focused on protecting the interests and values of my constituency, which included passing legislation to support and improve conditions for our senior citizens; providing tools and resources to small businesses that will help them thrive and create more jobs; approving an increase of higher education funding to ensure that every student in my district has access to a quality education; expanding healthcare to those without coverage; and protecting the rights and freedoms of others. I’m running for re-election because there is more work to do to ensure the constituents in the 47th Assembly District share the benefits of California's economic recovery. I look forward to continuing my work to improve the economic and social conditions in the 47th District." Assemblymember Brown and her husband, Hardy Sr., have been married for 52 years and raised four children in San Bernardino. Lynn, Paulette, Hardy Jr., and Regina have blessed their parents with nine grandchildren.
