Nine arrests were made and 10 citations were issued as a result of a recent July 12 code compliance investigation, according to a release by the Colton Police Department (CPD).
Over 70 properties “identified as having problems with squatters, trash, or unsafe conditions” were investigated by Code Compliance Officers and other assigned investigators from the detective division, the release stated.
Officers also handed out information to homeless individuals on emergency shelter, transitional housing and food banks.
The operation lasted 10 hours, with 10 administrative citations for code violations issued, 22 field interview cards completed and nine arrested for violations.
