Big or small any dream can become a reality, and that is exactly what Laney Smith has proven.
On Sept. 28, Smith held a book signing at Augie's Coffee House in downtown Riverside. Smith is the author of "Lock Creek: One Year's Time," the first book in her Time Capsule series.
Her next book of the series will be out in just a few days, and she still has two more on the way. Her book is a love story between an attractive Sheriff and a shy girl that is new to town. According to her the book is suspenseful with a bit of mystery that will keep readers guessing.
Smith started out as community writer for City News Group. Then in 2013 she started writing her book by hand. She was able to publish her book through Create Space. This passion for writing may have started out small, but now she is happy that she has published her own book.
She describes writing as "fun," and at times feels like she "lives her characters' lives."
