The City of Moreno Valley approved a public–private partnership with LSSI in June to manage Moreno Valley’s Public Library. Under the agreement, LSSI will re-establish 7-day service to Library patrons, increase the current yearly book and materials budget by 200 percent, and save taxpayers over $1.3 million over the five-year contract. The transition to LSSI’s management will occur over Labor Day week. The Moreno Valley Public Library will close at 6 p.m. on Saturday, August 31, and will remain closed through the Labor Day weekend and the following week. During the closure, staff will reorganize and shelve newly ordered materials in preparation for re-opening under LSSI’s management. The Library will re-open for business on Monday, September 9, at 9 a.m. with the following new hours: Monday–Thursday: 9 a.m.–8 p.m. Friday: 9 a.m.–6 p.m. Saturday: 9 a.m.–5 p.m. Sunday: 12 noon–5 p.m. The Moreno Valley Public Library is located at 25480 Alessandro Blvd. and is currently open Monday through Thursday from 9 a.m.–8 p.m., Friday from 9 a.m.–1 p.m., and Saturday from 9 a.m.–6 p.m.
